The trademark filings are for these popular snack brands:

  • Froot Loops
  • Special K
  • Kellogg’s
  • Pop-Tarts
  • Cheez-It
  • Rice Krispies
  • Krave
  • Eggo
  • Mini Wheats
  • Bear Naked
  • Frosted Flakes
  • Pringles

As shared by Mike Kondoudis on Twitter, the filing hints at plans to develop virtual foods and environments, crypto tokens, collectibles, NFT-backed media, VR games, and more.

While there are no solid or confirmed plans from Kellogg and its Web3 ambitions, the company could leverage Web3 for marketing or loyalty programs, enhance customer engagement, and even redefine business models to stay at the forefront of technological advances like blockchain. Who knows? Maybe prizes that were in the cereal boxes will come back in vogue, only they’ll be NFTs.
