Titleist Files Web3 Trademark To Bring Golf To The Metaverse
Milestone Date: March 20, 2023
American golf equipment giant Titleist filed a trademark application with the USPTO for Web3-related products.
According to an update from the attorney Michael Kondoudis, a trademark application from Titleist shares the brand’s intent to possibly create NFTs, NFT-authenticated media, virtual clothing and golf goods, a virtual environment, and more.
Anyone for a round of virtual golf?
The owner of the #TITLEIST brand of golf equipment has filed a trademark application for:

This is not the first time an organization in the golf industry has entered Web3, and Titleist could be feeling some pressure. Last month, the PGA Tour and DraftKings launched an NFT-based fantasy golf game where players can buy and collect cards featuring legendary golfers. The cards were released on DraftKings Marketplace, which was launched in 2021, to allow the online gambling enterprise to curate NFT drops, support secondary sales of NFTs, and provide a platform for its community to seamlessly buy, sell, and trade digital collectibles directly within their DraftKings account.
