Chick-fil-A Files Web3-Related Trademark
Milestone Date: May 5, 2022
Chick-fil-A, one of the most popular fast-food restaurants in the United States, has filed trademarks for “CHICK-FIL-A,” “EAT MOR CHIKIN,” and its Chicken Logo with intentions to launch initiatives in the Web3 space.
The filing hints at initiatives regarding NFTs and the Metaverse, including:
- Virtual foods and beverage products
- NFTs
- Online retail services featuring virtual goods
- Entertainment services, namely, providing online virtual restaurants in virtual environments
- Online virtual restaurants wherein users can earn rewards points and virtual currency, which may be used to purchase food and beverages.
Metaverse trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis shared the filing news on Twitter.
In filing for these Web3-related trademarks, Chick-fil-A joins a host of other fast-food restaurants like Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC (all subsidiaries of Yum! Brands) as well as McDonald's (recently minted 2,000 Grimace NFTs in crypto-friendly Singapore) who are looking to use blockchain to further their business objectives.
