AMC Theatres Plans To Accept Dogecoin And Shiba Inu Payments

Like many other companies that accept cryptocurrencies for their goods and services, AMC has chosen to work with BitPay to integrate the functionality for cryptocurrency payments. The experience is expected to be live on March 19 for online payments and live on AMC mobile apps by April 16, 2022.

AMC Entertainment Holdings CEO, Adam Aron, made a Twitter poll about SHIB and DOGE last year, asking the crypto community if AMC should accept payments in these cryptocurrencies. An overwhelming majority of the community voted in favor, and Adam has since promised to deliver on accepting DOGE and SHIB.

Acceptance of cryptocurrency payments is a growing use case of blockchain among enterprises. For example, last year, Latvian airline airBaltic announced that it will begin accepting payments in various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and DOGE.
