After its announcement last month, AMC Entertainment now accepts Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) meme cryptocurrencies for payment.
AMC Entertainment Holdings CEO Adam Aron broke the news on Twitter to inform customers that they can use DOGE and SHIB to purchase movie tickets online and with AMC mobile apps. AMC worked with BitPay to integrate its cryptocurrency payment options.
Exactly as promised, the AMC mobile app for AMC’s U.S. theatres now accepts online payments using DogeCoin, Shiba Inu, and other cryptocurrencies — thanks to Bitpay. The entertainment giant has already been accepting Ether (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Litecoin (LTC) for online movie ticket purchases. After an overwhelmingly positive response to a poll that Adam posted about potentially accepting DOGE and SHIB, he delivered on the promise to add these meme cryptocurrencies to the roster.
